How to read these numbers
From the price files insurers must publish under Transparency in Coverage, 2026 Q4. One value per billing group, so big groups don't dominate.
A listed rate is the contract amount before copays, deductibles and denials. For platforms it is what the insurer lists for the platform's group, not NP pay.
- Some national insurers are not loaded yet.
- Cells under 5 billing groups show no median (middle half needs 10+).
- Medicaid NP rate found in 10 of 25 states.
Questions
Is this really free?
Yes. Every insurer's typical rate, Medicare, Medicaid, the offer check and the letter are free with no sign-up. A free account (first name and email) adds more detailed views after your first 3, what the top 25% of NP groups get, the middle half of each range, and a dashboard to save your rates and requests.
Where do the numbers come from?
From the price files insurers must publish under the federal Transparency in Coverage rule, plus the CMS 2026 Medicare fee schedule and each state's Medicaid fee schedule. We don't survey or estimate insurer rates.
Is a listed rate what I'll actually be paid?
Not exactly. It is the contract rate the insurer lists for a billing group, before copays, deductibles and denials. It is the best public answer to 'what does this insurer pay for this visit'.
Do I need my NPI?
No. You can see every state's rates and check an offer without it. An NPI lookup shows the rates insurers list for that NPI, from public files. Your saved rates and requests are private to your account.
